SEE AND HEAR ABOUT THE 19TH CENTURY PRIVATE LIBRARY OF WILLIAM CULLEN BRYANT AT CEDARMERE ESTATE

Roslyn Harbor, NY – Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano
today announced that the Friends of Cedarmere are sponsoring a
talk and tour of the 19th Century Private Library of William
Cullen Bryant at his Cedarmere Estate on Sunday, January 29th
from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

The talk and tour will be hosted by Sunday Steinkirchner, who
will discuss books in Bryant’s Library, with focus on Alexander
Hamilton’s Federalist Papers, Thomas More’s Utopia, and the
works of Washington Irving and how they influenced Bryant’s
writing, and his associations with other 19th Century authors.

Ms. Steinkirchner is co-owner of B & B Rare Books, Ltd. In

Located at 225 Bryant Ave. in Roslyn Harbor, Cedarmere, the
historic property of prominent 19th Century poet, newspaper
editor and civic leader William Cullen Bryant, includes the
Bryant home and several other structures on a beautiful 7-acre
property overlooking Roslyn Harbor. Visitors can view the
exhibits in the house and stroll on the property, which
includes a Gothic mill, a pond spanned by a rustic stone bridge
and a small formal garden.

Parking is available south and north of the house, with
handicapped parking in front of the house. For further
