The meeting will feature a 30-minute presentation by DEC Fisheries staff describing current management practices for trout streams and will include key findings of a statewide study completed in 2015. Following the presentation, meeting attendees will have an opportunity to provide input and feedback regarding their preferences and expectations for the management of trout streams.
The upcoming meeting is scheduled for:
Thursday, November 2
6:30 to 9 p.m. (Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 7 p.m.) Suffolk County Water Authority(link leaves DEC’s website) EducationCenter

Since 1990, DEC has generally managed trout streams for a desired catch rate. DEC fisheries managers seek to examine how well the current management goal fits the purpose of satisfying the desires of today’s recreational trout stream anglers. Understanding the fishery characteristics valued most by trout stream anglers will help DEC biologists to identify and develop effective future management strategies.
Visit DEC’s Trout Stream Management page for more information about the management program and a full schedule of the Trout Stream Management Meetings.

PROVIDE A RESOURCE TO FIND THE PERFECT PARK. IN ADDITION to providing a resource for Long Islanders to find the perfect park to visit, we strongly believe that you should also know the history or background of that park. We also strongly believe that everyone should have a part in keeping Long Island natural and beautiful. (We are also 100% positive the world would be a better place if everyone would take a stroll in a park.)
